Michael Hooper, MS, MA, ALC
Michael Hooper is an Associate Licensed Counselor who has been a working as therapist since 2017. He graduated from the University of West Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology. He went onto broaden his graduate experience receiving a Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Michael has a diversified background in the mental health field serving individuals in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, inpatient psychiatric care, alternative school 7-12, community mental health agencies, and in-home services. He is passionate about providing a therapeutic service to clients that allows "buy-in", meeting their own specific needs, and assisting them utilize strengths to develop or enhance essential skills to find balance, promote self-awareness and live a healthier lifestyle. Michael has provided counseling in areas such as trauma, self-esteem, anger management, social and behavioral problems, child and adolescent mood disorders, family conflict, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions. His clinical approach to treatment incorporates cognitive behavioral, trauma-focused, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.
